About Me

Hi, I’m Lisa! I have been a writer since I was old enough to hold a pencil.Lisa-Bynum

Nine years ago, I began writing freelance on the side as extra income. Five years ago, I left my job in advertising and made freelance writing my full-time career.

I have over 10 years of experience in the marketing, advertising, and public relations industry. Prior to working for the largest advertising agency in Mississippi, I also worked in manufacturing, healthcare, and non-profit. In fact, a few of my former employers are now clients!

In addition to copy writing, I am a regular contributor to several publications.   This has provided me the opportunity to interview some amazing people, such as Reuben Anderson — the first African American justice appointed to the Mississippi Supreme Court, Chef Regina Charboneau, country music legend Paul Ott Carruth, and renowned artist and Mississippi native George Wardlaw.  My work has been included in such publications a Forbes Travel Guide, Mississippi Magazine, Portico Jackson, eat.drink.MISSISSIPPI, Town & Gown, Eat Jackson, The ‘Sip MagazineStages Mississippi, The Northside Sun, and Parents & Kids Magazine.

When I’m not writing, I enjoy cooking and I chronicle the culinary happenings of my kitchen in my food and cooking blog, The Cooking Bride. I live outside Jackson, Mississippi with my husband and two sons.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.  I hope through my experience I have something to offer you or your organization.
